Volunteer Opportunities
JoyMarie's’s needs your time, enthusiasm and expertise to keep our organization running. We do not have any paid staff. We provide all of our clothing and services for free so volunteers are an essential component in allowing us to provide clothing to children in our community. We only ask for a 4 hour commitment to try us out. Then you can experience our setup, get to know us and see if there is a volunteer opportunity with us in the future. Here is a list of things you can do as a JoyMarie's’s Volunteer;
Stock Room
(Most volunteers start here) Sorting, tagging and restocking clothing and shoes.
Clothes Washing
We have loads of clothing in enclosed tubs. You can take the clothing home, wash them and return them to us clean and folded in the same tub.
Shoe Cleaning
Many donated shoes need to be washed, brushed, or polished. New shoe laces often need to be added.
Donation Pickup
We are looking for able bodies to pick up boxes from our storage units, apparel partners, and large donation pickup sites and deliver them to our store.
Family Coordinator
Assisting families with check-in, shopping and check-out.
Volunteer Coordinator
Are you a leader? Do you have extensive volunteer experience and contacts in our community? Do you love coordinating, contacting people, and guiding them thru the process? Here is your chance to use your resources!
Garage Sale Shopper
Do you love hitting the sales on Fridays? We need shoppers to spread the word to sellers to donate their unsold kid’s clothing to JoyMarie's’s. We would provide business cards and flyers with information for you to give them during their sale. You would then contact them before their sale is over to see if they would like us to pick-up any clothing.
New Clothing Sale Shopper
Do you see major sales going on in our community? All of our underwear, socks, and most of our pajamas are brand new. We need to know when there is a sale going on! All of the money generated from fundraising currently goes towards buying these items. We need to stretch those dollars. We are always looking for a deal. If you can afford to buy it and donate it for us, thank you so much! Otherwise, call us to let us know about the sale or to get approval to be reimbursed for specific items.
Apparel Partner
We are looking for local retail stores to donate underwear, socks, pajamas, shoes and clothing for children ages 0-18. We also accept diapers, infant and toddler supplies, toiletries, bedding, pillows, backpacks, and school supplies.
Sponsor a Clothing Drive
Schools, neighborhood, businesses, are all great locations to host a clothing drive. We can help with flyers, print layout and design, etc. This is a great project for Girl Scout and Boy Scout service projects! Kids helping kids! Ask your troop! You will be surprised at their wonderful innovative ideas.
Interpreting
We are looking for interpreters for all languages including sign languages. You would need to be available for both phone and in person appointments with the families. The more resources we have, the more children we can serve!
Fundraising Coordinator
Marketing PR Coordinator
Grant Research and Writing
Special Events Coordinator
It’s easy and incredibly rewarding to get involved. Simply read our Volunteer Handbook, print our Adult Volunteer Application, fill it out and give us a call. We’ll get you started from there!
